About the party bus
A party bus replaces rows of seats with perimeter lounge seating, so passengers face each other and can move around while the vehicle is in motion. Add LED lighting, a serious sound system, a bar counter with ice wells and a privacy partition, and the ride becomes part of the event.
Rentals are almost always hourly with a three to five hour minimum, and demand is heavily concentrated on Friday and Saturday nights. Prom season, homecoming, New Year's Eve and major sports finals sell out weeks ahead at premium rates.
Alcohol policy is the detail people get wrong. Many operators allow it for passengers 21 and over with a signed agreement and a refundable cleaning deposit; some prohibit it outright, and every operator will refuse a booking where minors and alcohol mix.

Party Bus questions, answered
Often yes for 21+ groups, with a signed alcohol agreement and a cleaning deposit of $150–$500. It is never permitted when anyone on board is under 21.
By lounge seating, which is less rigid than fixed seats. A bus advertised for 30 is comfortable for about 24 once people are standing and dancing.
Larger party buses sometimes include one. Most do not, so plan stops into the itinerary.
Four to eight weeks for a normal weekend, and three to four months for prom season or New Year's Eve.
